Someone here asked for a set of starting points for the V803, so here they are. Twenty genres, twenty places to begin — each one dialed around what this amp actually does rather than what a generic EQ chart says. The V803 is 800 watts in 3.78 lbs, with three output voices and a sweepable midrange, which is a lot to stare at on a first gig. Consider this a map, not a destination. How to read this This is the part worth reading twice — it's where the amp actually makes sense. - Voice — Modern: tight, controlled solid-state output. For when the note needs to stay exactly where you put it. - Voice — Warm: tube-style output impedance, with the same bottomless limiter underneath. Push without the collapse. - Voice — Q-Tube: real tube clipping behavior — breakup, sag and grunt. This is the one that pushes back when you dig in. - Input — Flat: uncolored response. Start here. - Input — Scoop: an instant modern mid-cut, right at the jack. - Mid Freq: the semi-parametric sweep, 250Hz to 1kHz. This is the most powerful control on the amp. The Mid knob only boosts or cuts whatever frequency you point it at — so the sweep decides what "mid" even means for your bass and your hands. If a setting below isn't landing, move this first. - Master: depends entirely on your room. Set it last, every time. It isn't in the panels below for exactly that reason.
