Selecting lists with a MIDI controller

Has anyone successfully selected an Elevate User List from an external MIDI controller using CC #0? The manual says CC #0 value 1 selects User List 1, value 2 selects User List 2, etc. I have an Elevate with User List 1 = Sheraton and User List 2 = Strat. My external MIDI controller is definitely communicating with the Elevate, and other MIDI commands work. But sending CC #0 value 1 or 2 does not change the active List. The Elevate is set to Omni MIDI reception. Has anyone actually gotten User List selection by MIDI CC #0 to work, and if so, is there a specific message sequence or firmware requirement?
