Why are these pedals so light?

Our enclosures are die-cast aluminum — durable, light, and corrosion-resistant. It's easy to equate weight with quality; a heavier pedal just feels more solid. Some makers lean into that by adding dead weight. A common trick is die-cast zinc instead of aluminum: the two behave almost identically as enclosure materials, but zinc weighs about twice as much. We've also seen a thick steel plate dropped inside just to add heft. If you're hauling a pedalboard around — especially a big one — you probably won't thank anyone for that extra weight, so we don't add it. Steel is stronger than aluminum, but it's heavier and can rust. For all these reasons, die-cast aluminum is the best fit for a pedal enclosure.
