Getting the most from Neuron's Gain and Comp controls

Both Neuron's Gain and Comp controls were built with an enormous amount of range. Gain adds up to 68 dB. Comp adjusts threshold and gain together — it adds gain as you turn it up, to make up for the lower threshold. Here's the practical catch: 68 dB is about as much gain as we could add before noise gets objectionable, so be careful stacking the compressor (which adds still more gain) when Gain is at or near maximum. At those extreme settings the compressor does little you can actually hear beyond adding noise. Our rule of thumb: with Gain at 75% or higher, keep Comp at 25% or lower.
