What the Limiter knob actually does

Most of our guitar amps have a Limiter knob sitting right next to the Gain, and it's one of the most-asked-about controls we have. The short version: the Limiter works hand-in-hand with the Gain, governing how far into overdrive your Gain is allowed to push. That gives you a simple way to choose between grit and glassy sustain. - Limiter at 0 with the Gain turned up gives you an overdriven, broken-up tone. - Limiter at 10 with the Gain turned up gives you long, clean sustain without tipping over into overdrive. Think of the two knobs as a pair: Gain sets how hard you're driving, and the Limiter decides how much of that drive turns into breakup versus headroom. Dial them together to land anywhere from a touch of hair to singing, clean sustain.
