Running a 16-ohm cab with your Quilter amp

Quilter amps are designed around 4-ohm and 8-ohm loads, but you can run a 16-ohm cab. A couple of things to keep in mind: - A 16-ohm load makes the amp behave a bit differently. Power output nearly doubles, so keep your Master at or below half your cabinet's wattage rating so the amp can handle the voltage swings without risking your speaker. - Example: with a Tone Block 202 into a 200-watt, 16-ohm cab, keep the Master at or below 100. - Plug a single 16-ohm cab into the 8-ohm jack on the back of the amp. Two 16-ohm cabs are no problem — together they present an 8-ohm load and the amp behaves normally. Plug one cab into each speaker jack and you're set. > Note: This doesn't apply to the Bass Block (800/802/V803). Running a 16-ohm cab with the Bass Block drops output to 250 watts.
