Technically yes, but be cautious. Here's the approach we suggest — say you've got a Tone Block 202 and want to run it into a 100-watt cabinet:
- Set the amp up with your desired settings, then slowly turn up the Master and play.
- Listen for the speaker starting to "bottom out" — that's the sound of it being overpowered, usually a popping noise.
- When you hear it, pull the Master back and make a mental note of that ceiling. Stay below it when you play.
That keeps you at a safe level. That said, we'd still recommend pairing your amp with a speaker that matches or slightly exceeds the amp's output — it's why our cabinets use speakers rated higher than the amps they pair with.
