Can you use a normal electric guitar with the Travis Toy?

Yes — it's perfectly safe and won't damage the speaker. Just know that this amp's speaker (the Eminence TT12/15) was voiced specifically for steel guitar, so it responds differently than a typical guitar speaker: with an electric guitar you'll hear a lot of high end, and the low end will come across quite low and bassy.
