Everything you need to get the Wet Reverberator plug-in licensed and past any activation hiccup, in one place. Jump to your situation: Where to find your license key Your license key is emailed to you after purchase. If it hasn't arrived within a few hours, check your spam or junk folder first — that's where it most often hides. A few things worth knowing: - Your key is not stored in your neunaber.net account, so it only lives in that email. - Please don't delete the license key email. To find it later, search your inbox for "Wet Reverberator Plug-In - Perpetual License". - Once the license is activated, you can always see it in the software under Help > About. Can't find your key anywhere? You can look it up yourself from the License section of this topic. You can also reach out here in the community or to support with your order number or the email address you used to purchase. How to enter your license key Ready to activate? Here's the whole process: - Find your license key. It was emailed to you after purchase. If you can't locate it, you can look it up from the License section of this topic. - Get online. You'll need an internet connection to activate. (Once activated, you won't need it again.) - Open the plug-in's window. - Click the Help menu — the menu on the right side showing either "Help" or a status message. - Click Enter License Key. - Copy and paste your key into the box, then press Enter. - If you're running more than one instance of the plug-in, restart your DAW so the license applies everywhere. That's it — you're licensed. How many computers can I install on? Good news: your license lets you install the software on more than one computer. There are just two conditions: - You won't use it on more than one computer at the same time. - All the computers are yours, operated by you exclusively. So your desktop and your laptop are both fair game, as long as you're the one behind the keyboard and you're not running them simultaneously. Fixing a "Network Timeout" error during activation Seeing a "Network Timeout" error while activating your license? One of these usually clears it up: - Confirm you have a working internet connection. - Make sure you're on the latest version of the plug-in. - Restart your computer. - The license server may just be briefly down — wait a bit and try again. If it keeps happening, a firewall may be blocking the connection. On macOS, you can allow your DAW through the firewall like this: - Open System PreferencesFirewall tab. - Click the lock icon in the lower-left, enter your password, and click Unlock. - Click Firewall Options. - Find your DAW in the list and set it to "Allow incoming connections." - Check "Automatically allow downloaded signed software to receive incoming connections." - Click OK, then click the lock icon again to save. Still stuck after all that? Reach out here in the community or to support. "Invalid License Key" when entering your key Getting an "Invalid license key" message when you paste your key? The fix is usually simple: type the key in by hand instead of pasting it. Enter it exactly as shown, dashes and all. Copy-and-paste sometimes grabs a stray space or hidden character, and typing it manually sidesteps that. License key entered, but status didn't change? (Multiple instances) If you had several instances of the plug-in open when you entered your key, and the status message didn't update, that's expected. You just need to restart your DAW afterward so the new license propagates to every instance. > On macOS, the red X closes the window but doesn't quit the app. Choose the DAW's menu → Quit, or right-click its Dock icon → Quit. Relaunch, and all your instances should show as licensed. "License Expired" after you've already licensed If you get a "License Expired" (or similar) message even though you've already licensed the plug-in successfully, run through these three steps: - Restart your computer. - Update to the latest version of the plug-in. - Re-enter your license key. That combination clears it up in nearly every case. If it persists, reach out here in the community or to support. General troubleshooting for license-key issues Running into a license error that isn't covered by one of the more specific posts here? Start with these general steps — they resolve most cases: - Make sure you have the newest version of the plug-in installed. - Close your DAW, restart your computer, then relaunch your DAW. - Confirm you're connected to the internet. - Re-enter your license key. Copy and paste it from your email, or type it exactly as shown, dashes included. If none of that does the trick, reach out with the exact error message you're seeing and we'll take it from there. "Invalid License" after restoring to a new machine When you activate a license, the plug-in creates a key file that's tied to that computer's hardware. So if you've restored your setup onto a new machine, the old key file won't match the new hardware, and you'll see an "Invalid License" error. The fix is to clear the old key file and re-license: - Quit your DAW. - Find the file `license.key` in the appropriate folder for your system (where ~ is your user folder): - macOS: ~/Music/Neunaber Audio/Wet Reverb/ - Windows: ~/Documents/Neunaber Audio/Wet Reverb/ or ~/AppData/Roaming/Neunaber Audio/Wet Reverb/ - Delete license.key. - Relaunch your DAW and re-enter your license key. You'll be back up and running on the new machine. If you no longer have your key handy, you can look it up from the License section of this topic. Fixing an "Invalid UTF-8" exception during licensing (Windows) On Windows, if licensing throws an error that reads "Exception: [json.exception.type.error.316] invalid UTF-8...", it's a system-locale setting getting in the way. Here's how to fix it: - In the Windows Search bar, type control panel and press Enter. - Under Clock and Region, click "Change date, time, or number formats." - Click the Administrative tab. - Click "Change system locale..." - Check the box "Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" and click OK. You may need to restart before trying to license again — the plug-in should then activate cleanly. "Could not access license file" on macOS Ventura or later If you've updated to macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or higher and now see "Could not access license file," the fix is to update the Wet Reverberator plug-in to the newest version (1.0.7 or higher). After updating, force your DAW to rescan for plug-ins (the steps vary by DAW — check your DAW's User Guide). To confirm your DAW is actually loading the new version: - In the Wet Reverberator's interface, click the error-message dropdown box. - Click About. - Check the version number. If it doesn't read 1.0.7 or higher, your DAW is still loading the old version — rescan again until it picks up the update.
